OSBORNE-REYNOLDS DEMONSTRATION

EXPERIMENTAL CAPABILITIES:
  1. Observation of the laminar, transition and turbulent regime.
  2. Study of the velocity profile, reproducing the Reynold’s experiment.
  3. Calculation of Reynold’s number.
OSBORNE-REYNOLDS DEMONSTRATION

OSBORNE-REYNOLDS DEMONSTRATION is used to assess whether the flow is laminar or turbulent.
PHOTON Osborne Reynolds Apparatus is used to show and display the laminar and turbulent flows types. Also we can display the transition zone from laminar to turbulent flow after a limiting velocity. The apparatus consists of acrylic cylindrical tank with a nozzle linked to a transparent acrylic pipe through which water flows with the injected ink. A suitable valve is used to control the flow rate in the pipe section and the visualization of the laminar or turbulent regime can be carried out by means the flow control valve. The water is supplied and the flow rate measured by the hydraulic bench.
